Viewing a container before buying
A container is a purchase for twenty years and longer. If you live within driving distance, it is best to look at the model yourself – especially in the case of refurbished units, where the condition of the paintwork, the floor and the seals make the difference. Write to info@diecontainergmbh.com and we will make the container you are interested in accessible. Viewing is not possible without an appointment, because the units are parked close together.

Delivery area and delivery costs
Within Germany, delivery costs a flat rate of 400,00 € incl. VAT – regardless of distance, size and quantity. The same price applies to the greater Munich area as to Flensburg or Passau; there are no zones and no local-area scale. What that means for you in the region: you pay no surcharge, but you save time, because short journeys are easier to schedule.
We deliver regularly to Munich, to the whole district of Munich (Unterhaching, Taufkirchen, Ottobrunn, Neubiberg, Grünwald, Garching, Unterschleißheim) and to the adjoining districts of Ebersberg, Starnberg, Fürstenfeldbruck, Dachau, Erding, Freising, Rosenheim, Miesbach and Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, among others. Collection in person with your own low-loader or crane vehicle is also possible by arrangement.
Access: what matters in the Munich area
The container arrives on a lorry and is set down by crane or roll-off tipper. In practice, appointments almost never fail because of the container, but because of the access. Check in advance:
- City centre and old-building districts: narrow entrances, bollards and mature trees. In many Munich neighbourhoods the crane needs lateral clearance that goes beyond the pitch itself.
- No-stopping zone: if the lorry has to stand on public land, a traffic order is required in the city of Munich. Apply for it in good time – experience shows that this takes several working days.
- Overhead lines and trees: crane operation requires height. Overhead cables and low-hanging branches are the most common reason for an aborted appointment.
- Ground: the container bears its load through the four corner castings. Four level, load-bearing bearing points are sufficient – concrete slabs or strip foundations. Filled topsoil is not enough.
- New development areas outside the city: on unsurfaced site roads, heavy vehicles quickly become stuck in wet conditions. Tell us the condition of the access and we will plan the right vehicle.

Permits in Bavaria
In Bavaria, whether a container requires a permit is decided by the building inspectorate of your municipality or by the district office. What governs the matter is the use, the size, the duration of installation and the location in relation to the development plan and the plot boundary. A storage container standing on a construction site for a few weeks is assessed differently from a permanently used break room in the garden. We may not and cannot give any binding information on this – ask the building authority of your municipality briefly before ordering. In the state capital Munich the Lokalbaukommission (local building commission) is responsible; outside the city it is the respective district office.
