Design and equipment
The decisive feature of cryogenic ISO tanks is their ability to keep the gas at temperatures of around −162 °C (−260 °F). This is achieved by a double-walled construction: an inner vessel of stainless steel sits inside an outer shell, and the space between is vacuum insulated and provided with super insulation.
Use in practice
The tank is built into an ISO frame with corner castings and can therefore be handled, stacked and secured with twistlocks like an ordinary container.
